CAMPS & WORKSHOPS

Kids Art Camp

July 18-July 22, 10am-12pm
Ages 7-12
Camp Fee: $75

Children will enjoy a week-long creative journey working in a variety of media, engaging in two- and three-dimensional exploration through painting, sculpture, mixed media, and more.

*Limit 15 students. Sibling discounts available – $10 off per additional child. Please call to receive discount when registering: (574) 404-3005.


Portrait Workshop with Bob Williams

Saturday, July 23rd and Sunday, July 24th – 9am-4pm
Workshop Fee: $85 Non-Members| $75 Members

Spend two days working from a live model under the instruction of talented portrait artist Robert R. Williams (http://www.faceartistrrw.com). Work in oils, pastels, acrylic or pencil to complete a portrait during this single-model workshop.


Website Design for Artists

Wednesdays, 5-7pm | Starting July 6th (3 weeks)
Class Fee: $50 | Instructor: Brady Hastings

This course will present artists with step-by-step methods for creating a portfolio website utilizing the user-friendly WordPress platform. Please bring your own laptop, USB drive and camera if available.


Introduction to Digital Photography

Saturdays, 12-2:00pm (Four 3-hr classes)
Dates: July 9, July 16, July 30, August 6
Class Fee $60.00 | Instructor: Brady Hastings

Classroom section will cover a range of topics from history of the camera to composition, mechanics, special effects and more. Each class will incorporate lecture/demonstration, photographing session and critique.

CLASSES

Intro to Art & Art History / Drawing 101

Fridays, 1:00 to 3:30pm | Starting Aug 5th (8 weeks)
Class Fee: $85 / $75 (members) | Instructor: Brady Hastings

  • Class split between Art/Art History lecture and Basic Drawing
  • Art History from Pre-Historic to French Impressionist
  • Basic Non-Objective Drawing Techniques

Supplies:

  • Small set chalk pastels
  • Small set drawing pencils
  • Art Gum eraser
  • 11”x14’ Drawing pad / Sketch book (8”x10” or 14”x17” ok if you have them already)

Building Clay Creations (for Kids!) 

Ages 6-12
Saturdays, 9am-11am, Starting June 11 (8 weeks)
$80 (includes materials) | Instructor: Vicci Moore

Explore the wonders of clay using hand-building techniques. Participants will create using various methods of shaping and decorating clay into useful, decorative, and fun objects. Getting into the mud, kids learn how natural materials come together in this fascinating art form along with some basic history of the use of clay. The course will end with a family reception and display of students’ works.


Watercolor & Mixed Media

Wednesday mornings, 9:00am-12:00pm | Starting June 8 (8 weeks)

Instructor: Shana Dines | Cost $85/$75 for members | $15 Drop In

Experience enjoyable exploration of tools and techniques to achieve a variety of effects in watercolor and other media. An individualized approach helps each student refine present skills with encouragement to continue developing independently. This course will help you select appropriate media for specific desired effects. We will work mostly in watercolor, pastel and acrylics or oil. Please bring your own supplies. Preferably bring the subject matter that you wish to paint.
