Take a look at your yard, pond, or lake and sketch the animal you love looking at the most. Over two evenings, we will build the hollow animal and etch flowers, grasses, and trees onto the body of your sculpture.  Make sure to think about if your animal will need non-ceramic supports to look the way you want.  For example, if you’re building a heron, and you want that leg to be a part of the animal.  You’ll want a thin dowel or a chopstick to play that part. You can always make a flat bottom, or add feet underneath. Something like an elephant will work if the legs are wide enough!  I (Sarah) can help you plan during the first evening. And, for the etchings, feel free to bring anything from nature that inspires you if you care to press something into the piece rather than etch!
