Polymer Clay Jewelry Workshop with Ellen Morey
Workshop Date: Saturday, September 30, 2023, Time: 1-4 pm. This three-hour workshop is for adults and older teens of all skill levels. Handmade clay beads may be used for necklaces, earrings and other jewelry.
Held at the Elkhart Art League Studio, 131 Tyler St #1-B, Elkhart IN 46516 (South of Elkhart Post Office), door on west end of building.
Workshop Fee: $30 for Members and Non-Members. Supply Fee is $10 for Sculpey-type polymer clay and glaze in your choice of colors. Additional clay may be purchased. No experience necessary, all tools available.
Workshop Description: Polymer Clay Jewelry is a three-hour workshop designed for adults and older teens who have never worked with polymer clay before, and anyone is welcome. Class size is limited to ten students.
Polymer clay is a versatile clay used by artisans all over the world. In this marbled bead workshop, you will learn how to use clay tools, the specific types of polymer clay beads and how to form them, and basic ways to form millefiori canes. Students will leave with a finished piece of jewelry.
Teacher Biography, Ellen Morey
Ellen started creating with polymer clay 26 years ago after taking a class through 4-H. She got her own clay and tools and was hooked! Being mostly self-taught, Ellen has explored many different uses of polymer clay, from miniatures, bas relief sculptures, wax seal stamps, figurines, chess sets, jewelry gifts, and even a new knob for a kitchen stove! She is experienced in various art forms like lacemaking, watercolor, gelli plate printing, instrument building, calligraphy, and plenty more. See Ellen’s page on Instagram at MotherNecessity.
