What is a Gelli plate? It’s a printing plate made of firm commercial gelatine substance. Gone are the days that I needed to make my Gelli plates by mixing unflavored gelatin for my adult students. Then take them to the art building and put the trays in the fridge. Yes, believe it or not, that is how we had to make them years ago. But today you can buy them commercially. We will be making 8×10 monoprints prints using different kinds of paper, cards, stencils, found objects. You can have fun making tons of artwork in a short period of
time. We will be making ghost prints, transparent layers and whatever else we can think of. It’s possible to make fine art paintings using this technique also. This Nature Inspired Gelli Plate Printing 2 workshop is suitable for beginners or more advanced students.
Instructor: Ellen Ridenour/ BFA IUSB. This workshop is for adult beginner and intermediate students. Limit 10 students.
